Talvi on ollut tylsistytt\u00e4v\u00e4n pitk\u00e4, kylm\u00e4 ja luminen. Vaikka keskiaikaa voi tietysti talvellakin harrastaa, on kes\u00e4 harrastuksen ehdoton sesonki. Olen aloittanut kes\u00e4n odottelun hyviss\u00e4 ajoin ja uudistanut kes\u00e4asuntoni.<\/p>\n

Kuten pidempiaikaiset lukijat ehk\u00e4 tiet\u00e4v\u00e4t, minulla on maailman s\u00f6p\u00f6in pikkuinen teltta<\/a>. Viime aikoina teltta on kuitenkin alkanut tuntua aavistuksen pienelt\u00e4, vaikka se onkin juuri sopiva yhden hengen yksi\u00f6<\/a>. Ja kun telttakuume iskee, se on sitke\u00e4 vaiva. Aina huomaa lipsahtavansa telttasivustoille vertailemaan toinen toistaan houkuttelevia uusia malleja ja systeemeit\u00e4.<\/p>\n

Lopulta p\u00e4\u00e4dyin haikein mielin myym\u00e4\u00e4n ensitelttani. Se onneksi p\u00e4\u00e4tyi hyv\u00e4\u00e4n kotiin yst\u00e4v\u00e4lle ja pysyy onneksi tutussa pihapiiriss\u00e4kin.<\/p>\n

Teltta koostuu kahdesta kangaspussillisesta ja nelj\u00e4st\u00e4 puusalosta, jotka yhdistet\u00e4\u00e4n kahdeksi pylv\u00e4\u00e4ksi. Kaikki osat vaikuttavat laadukkailta ja tukevilta. Lumen m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 ulkona on tosin viel\u00e4 semmoinen, ett\u00e4 pystytt\u00e4mismahdollisuutta saa viel\u00e4 odottaa.<\/p>\n

Mutta kaikessa t\u00e4ss\u00e4 on vahva lupaus kes\u00e4st\u00e4. Se on tulossa, vaikkei silt\u00e4 aina ulkona n\u00e4ytt\u00e4isik\u00e4\u00e4n.<\/p>\n

This winter has been unbearably long, cold and snowy. Although you can work on and do all sorts of medieval stuff during the winter months, summer is the season for this particular pastime. This year, I have started summer preparations well in advance and have renewed my summer housing.<\/p>\n

As you may know, I have owned possibly the cutest little tent ever<\/a>. Lately, the tent has started to feel a tad too small, even if it is a perfect little studio for one person.<\/a> And when you get hit by a serious case of pavillion fever, there is very little you can do. You find yourself browsing endless tent sites and looking at pictures for the One.<\/p>\n

Finally I decided to take the plunge and sell my little tent. A bittersweet moment, but thankfully it is going to a good home and will stay in the ’family’ since I sold it to a friend of mine.<\/p>\n

My new one is also from Poland, but this time from Medieval market.<\/a> When set up, the tent should look like this<\/a>. This beauty measures 6 x 3 meters, so it has quite a few square meters more than my previous one.<\/p>\n

All together the postman delivered 100 kilos of packages. The tent arrived in two canvas bags and 4 poles that make up the\u00c2\u00a0 2 poles that hold up the tent. All the parts seem really sturdy and well made. I have to wait quite a while before getting to set it up though. All that snow has to melt first.<\/p>\n

I got to set up the furniture I got for my new space, though. They are excellent stuff, just as the good reputation of the merchant led me to expect.<\/p>\n

The table is a trestle table, a style familiar from the Luttrell Psalter<\/a>, the feet are built up from L- and A-shaped pieces.<\/p>\n

The bench is also of a gothic style and can be taken apart for storage and transport. All the furniture still has to be waxed in order to make them suitable for outdoor use.<\/p>\n

All this brings with it a strong promise of summer. It is coming, no matter all the snow outside.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
