Ruotsiksi.

****

Sometimes I sit back and remeber the time when the publication of an interesting book on medieval topics was a rare occurence. That was then. Now it seems there is a constant flow of new books, much likely due to the growing interest in the middle ages both in the scholarly circles as well as the public at large. Keeping ones library up to date requires some activity as well as … cough… cough… a little bit of spending.

As much as I try to be a critical consumer and not shop very much at all, books on medieval topics are my weakness. I collect and build my own little library on my topics of interest. I justify all this with the fact that these books are not available in the local library. And not necessarily even at the national one nor the university one! And I do love and enjoy my books. It’s great to quickly check up on facts when working on a project or read the books at bedtime.

I’ve listed some central books on the book page here at Neulakko. However, the list is getting a bit outdated. There has been a lot of good books since then both being published and introduced into my bookshelf. I should do some updating.

The recent weeks have seen a lot of new books being added to the library. Some I bought with me from Sweden and Denmark – others arrived in the mail.
