Mit\u00e4 kannattaisi n\u00e4hd\u00e4?<\/p>\n *****<\/p>\n I escaped the dreary winter for a little holiday – however this time my destination completely lacked interesting museums. In order to save myself from getting bored amid all the beaches, sun, tropical drinks and dragshows, I packed a new travel project with me.<\/p>\n A good project for travelling is light, packs easily, isn’t too fast to complete and is reasonably addictive. In short: german counted thread embroidery.<\/p>\n I managed to stall myself this long from starting a new project after the bag<\/a> I finished last summer. This time the pattern<\/a> is by the talented Kathy Stormberg of Medieval arts and crafts, the original is from a reliquary box connected with saint Ursula. It’s beautiful and very fun to work on. The colour choices are a bit different, much due to me having very little yellow thread left. The yarn is wool I bought from Elsebet, the red is dyed with madder, the blue with woad and the yellow is dyed by me, using fireweed. I love the colours.<\/p>\n I found that embroidery is very well suited for the beach – can you spot the medievalist in the picture above?\u00c2\u00a0 :)<\/p>\n This week there’ll be more travel for travel projects – I’m off to Belgium. Does anyone have any good hints on museums\/things to see in the Brussels\/ Bruges areas?
