Varmaankin viides per\u00e4kk\u00e4inen ukkosmyrsky jylisi ja paukkui Hollolassa Iloisen Joutsenen uljaan ja luotettavan pellavapaviljongin yll\u00e4. Vett\u00e4 satoi kaatamalla ja myrskytuuli natisutti telttapuita. Teltassa oli l\u00e4k\u00e4hdytt\u00e4v\u00e4n kuuma &#8211; kaiken huippuna kutsumattomina k\u00e4mppiksin\u00e4 oli lauma l\u00e4heisyydenkipeit\u00e4 k\u00e4rp\u00e4si\u00e4, jotka halusivat kykki\u00e4 hikisell\u00e4 otsalla.<\/p>\n<p>T\u00e4ll\u00e4isiss\u00e4 tilanteissa v\u00e4ist\u00e4m\u00e4tt\u00e4 kysyy itselt\u00e4\u00e4n, miksi ihmeess\u00e4 t\u00e4t\u00e4 oikein harrastaa. Samaa kysyv\u00e4t markkinaturistit ja sit\u00e4 on pohdittu my\u00f6s telkkariohjelman kuvauksissa.<\/p>\n<p>Vastaan joskus aloittaneeni harrastuksen niin kauan sitten, etten osaa en\u00e4\u00e4 kuvitella millaista el\u00e4m\u00e4 olisi ilman keskiaikaa. No se on v\u00e4h\u00e4n l\u00e4pp\u00e4\u00e4, mutta toisaalta totta toinen puoli.<\/p>\n<p>Oikeampi vastaus l\u00f6ytyy kelaamalla el\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4 Hollolan ukkosy\u00f6st\u00e4 muutaman tunnin taaksep\u00e4in.<\/p>\n<p>On ilta, Peter, Saara ja Teemu ovat juuri valmistaneet herkullisen aterian leiriss\u00e4 avotulella. Ruoan j\u00e4lkeen istuskelemme tulen ymp\u00e4rill\u00e4, p\u00e4iv\u00e4n kuumuus on juuri alkanut taittua. Toisista leireist\u00e4 ja toisilta nuotioilta kuuluu rupattelua, turnajaishevoset hirnuvat aitauksessaan. Tulee pieni h\u00e4tk\u00e4hdys siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 juuri sill\u00e4 hetkell\u00e4, siin\u00e4 yst\u00e4vien ymp\u00e4r\u00f6im\u00e4n\u00e4, silm\u00e4\u00e4n ei satu mit\u00e4\u00e4n nykyaikaista ja voi hetken luulla olevansa jossain muussa ajassa. Eik\u00e4 mieless\u00e4 py\u00f6ri ensi viikon ty\u00f6t, eurokriisi, facebookin l\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4minen tai menneen viikonkaan jutut. On vain vahvasti l\u00e4sn\u00e4 siin\u00e4 miss\u00e4 on. Niiss\u00e4 hetkiss\u00e4 on jotain taianomaista.<\/p>\n<p>Ja onhan paljon muutakin &#8211; ja niist\u00e4kin Hollolassa tuli koettua monta hyv\u00e4\u00e4 esimerkki\u00e4. Ne ihanat ihmiset jotka t\u00e4ss\u00e4 tapaa, kaikki j\u00e4nn\u00e4t jutut joita n\u00e4kee ja joista oppii uutta (niinkuin nyt esim Ilonan kakkauuniprojekti), k\u00e4sity\u00f6t ja r\u00e4\u00e4t\u00e4l\u00f6inti erikseen mainittuna ja kaikenlaiset eteentulevat teht\u00e4v\u00e4t jotka yht\u00e4kki\u00e4 huomaakin hoitavansa (kuten mustaruutiammuntan\u00e4yt\u00f6ksen juontaminen).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hibernaatio.blogspot.fi\/2012\/07\/iloinen-joutsen-ja-albrechts-bossor.html\">Hibiksess\u00e4 on kivoja kuvia<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ja se ammuntan\u00e4yt\u00f6s on t\u00e4ss\u00e4:<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IgYo9jzoDAE?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"495\" height=\"279\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>Last Saturday night the conditions in Hollola went from bad to downright miserable. The trusty Merry Swan pavillion was hit by several consecutive thunderstorms. The rain poured, the wooden poles creaked frightfully in the harsh wind and lightning boomed and thundered around us. And to top it all off, it was boiling hot inside the pavillion &#8211; AND we had what seemed like million very affectionate flies as uninvited roommates. Lying there, too concerned about the weather to actually sleep, swatting the flies away from my sweaty brow, I ask myself the inevitable question: Why do I do this?<\/p>\n<p>Tourists at medieval markets tend to ask the same thing. And we&#8217;ve been talking about it when we have been making that tv programme.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes I say that I started this such a long time ago, that I cannot imagine not doing it anymore. It&#8217;s a joke, but maybe half of it is true.<\/p>\n<p>The truth lies just a few hours before the horrid storm.<\/p>\n<p>Rewinding a few hours back to the evening. Peter, Saar, Teemu and co. had just finished cooking a lovely meal on the open fire. Post- dinner, we sit around the fire chatting. The heat of the day is starting to cool down and the camp is going into evening mode. You hear people talking, sitting around other fires. The tourney horses neigh in their pasture close by. Then the feeling hits, there and then, surrounded by friends, looking around and seeing no modern things. For a fleeting moment you can feel that you are in a different time. Not thinking about work, the eurocrisis, facebooking, next weeks agenda or anything but just living there in that moment.
