Uskollisimmat lukijat saattavat ehk\u00e4 muistaa miten aloitin t\u00e4m\u00e4n kirjontaprojektin lomamatkalla tammikuussa 2010.\u00c2\u00a0 <\/a>Nyt se valmistui, j\u00e4lleen reissuk\u00e4sity\u00f6n\u00e4. Kirjontaosuus (30 x 15,5 cm) tuli valmiiksi jo loppukes\u00e4st\u00e4, mutta kukkaron kokoamista on tehty pitk\u00e4\u00e4n ja hartaasti muiden hommien ohella sek\u00e4 kotona, linnassa ett\u00e4 reissussa. Pussin tekemisess\u00e4 kesti kaksi vuotta, mutta l\u00e4hinn\u00e4 siksi, ett\u00e4 samalla tuli tehty\u00e4 kaikkea muutakin ja kirjontaty\u00f6 oli semmoinen luksusk\u00e4sity\u00f6, johon tartuin vain silloin kun oli aikaa.<\/p>\n

Pussi on vuorattu punaisella pellavalla, sen reunat on koottu tekem\u00e4ll\u00e4 ny\u00f6ri (t\u00e4ll\u00e4 tavalla<\/a>) reunaan samalla kun pussin ompelee kokoon.<\/p>\n

Pussin pohjassa on kolme tupsua, joista jokaisessa on luinen p\u00e4\u00e4kallohelmi, sama kuin rukousnauhassa.<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0 T\u00e4ll\u00e4 kertaa lis\u00e4sin tupsujen p\u00e4\u00e4h\u00e4n lis\u00e4\u00e4 lankaa ja kirjontaa, jokseenkin\u00c2\u00a0 t\u00e4ll\u00e4 tavalla<\/a>, (kiitos Medieval Silkworkille). Se antoi hyv\u00e4n lis\u00e4yksen tupsuihin ja sai ne viimeistellymm\u00e4n oloisiksi. Viimeistelin kukkaronnny\u00f6rien tupsut samalla tavalla. Ny\u00f6rit kukkarossa ovat iskunauhaa.<\/p>\n

Siin\u00e4 se nyt on, tehty t\u00e4ll\u00e4 kaavalla<\/a> Medieval Arts and Craftsista (ja aivan mahtava kaava olikin, suosittelen!) villaisesta Veera-langasta jossa punainen on v\u00e4rj\u00e4tty krapilla, sininen morsingolla ja keltainen\u00c2\u00a0 horsmalla. Koska koko pussiin ei tullut yhden yht\u00e4 virhett\u00e4, joten annoin luvan itselleni tehd\u00e4 seuraavan silkkilangasta.<\/p>\n

My more loyal readers may remember that I originally started this project on holiday back in January 2010<\/a>. So I thought it would be only fitting to finish it while on holiday. The embroidery (which measured 30 x 15,5 cm when finished) was finished in early in the fall, but the finishing touches (done at home, while travellina and at the castle in Ronneburg) too their time. All in all the project took two years, mostly because the embroidery was a sort of luxury craft that I took up when I had leisurely time left over from other stuff that I was working on during these 2 years.<\/p>\n

The bag is lined with red linen, the sides are sewn up by making a cord while sewing them up (instructions here)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The bag has 3 tassels, all finished with a bone skull bead from Denmark’s Nationalmuseet, same ones that I used for the rosary. This time I finished the tassels quite like this tutorial tells you to, thanks again to Medieval Silkwork<\/a>! It added a nice finish to the tassels, so I did that also on the tassels that I added to the purse strings. The purse strings and the hanger are all fingerlooped braid.<\/p>\n

So there it finally is, after all this time. The embroidery is made with this pattern<\/a> from Medieval Arts and Crafts (fun and lovely, I do heartily recommend) with wool thread (Veera), the red is dyed with madder, the blue with woad and the yellow with fireweed. Since this time the entire embroidery was completely flawless without any mistakes, I gave myself permission to do the next purse in silk.<\/p>\n
