Jouluun kuuluu rento köllöttely hyvän lukemisen parissa. Omalle yöpöydälle onkin kertynyt aika paljon luettavaa – vaikeinta lienee päättää mistä aloittaa. Melko hyvä ongelma. (Yöpöydän valikoima on myös todiste siitä, mikä järkyttävä tekstiilinörtti olen.)
Iloista joulua kaikille Neulakon lukijoille ja kiitos menneestä vuodesta! Siihen on mahtunut yhtä sun toista kiinnostavaa projektia, tapahtumaa, kirjaa ja museota. Ensi vuonna jatketaan samoilla metkuilla.
Vuosi alkaa kuitenkin jännittävästi muutolla toiselle palvelimelle. Olette ehkä huomanneet, ettei nykyiseen palveluntarjoajaan ole voinut olla kovinkaan tyytyväinen. Sivusto on ollut alhaalla ainakin neljästi, pisin aika oli viikon katkos nyt joulukuun alussa. Vaikka onneksi mitään ei ole näissä katkoissa kadonnut (onneksi!) päätin, että nyt meni hermo ja että tämä saa riittää. Ostin Neulakolle joululahjaksi uuden kodin luotettavammalta palvelimelta.
Muuton ei pitäisi näkyä teille lukijoille päin juurikaan, osoite ja muut tärkeät pysyvät samana. Raportoin muuton etenemisestä kunhan pääsen sen parissa näpertämään.
Sen jälkeen päästään asiaan – viimein kertomaan esimerkiksi eeppisestä ryppyhuntuprojektista, joka onnistui hyvin.

Relaxing with good books is an essential part of christmas for me. My night stand is piled up with good reading – the hardest part is choosing where to start. Kind of a nice problem. (My selection of reading for evenings is also very concrete proof of what kind of a hideous textile geek I am.)
So, happy holidays to my dear readers and thank you for the past year! It has been filled with interesting projects, great events, books and museums. Next year we’ll keep doing all that again.
The year will begin with an exciting change – moving to a new server. You may have noticed I haven’t been very happy with my current service provider. In 2010 the site has been down at least four times, the longest downtime being nearly a week in the beginning of December. Although nothing has been lost, that still did it for me. I’d had enough. I purchased a new home as a Xmas present for Neulakko and some peace of mind for me. And this time I have a more reliable service provider.
The move shouldn’t really show at all, since all the addresses will remain the same. I’ll keep you updated on how it’s going.
And after that I’ll finally get back to normal business, like telling you all about the frilled veil project.
